Make title rolls and crawls in Resolve the easy way: a Fuseday tutorial
Просмотров 2776 месяцев назад
Most tutorials on roll titles or crawls for Resolve involve creating paths, but last week I discovered a feature inside of Fusion's Text tool that has roll titles and title crawls *built in*. I didn't know this existed but it has been a part of Fusion since at least Fusion 9. The trick is to use the Layout option in the Layout tab instead of the Point option (the default setting). Once you do t...

For easy variations, just put a color corrector aft...

If you have questions about Fusion that you'd like answers to, just put them in the comments and I'll see if I know the answers to them. If I do and have the time, I'll put those in an upcoming video. For a while now I've seen so many RUclipsrs jump on the Resolve bandwagon. This makes sense. There's a large group of people learning how to edit with Resolve. A lot of these tutorials are really ...

Scream of Anger - a Europe Cover by Santhraxx

One of my favorite Europe songs from the "Wings of Tomorrow' album. Most covers of this song go harder - I went the other way and had a blast doing it. When it was done it was obvious that a 'standard' visualizer wouldn't cut it, so I created this animated video. Because why not? The video was created in Blender, Fusion and Davinci Resolve. Without Mixamo's assets I couldn't have done this - Ev...

Fusion Reactor now available for BMD Davinci Resolve 15
Thank you for this support. I downloaded the fireworks fusion plugin from your website and described how to use it in this video: ruclips.net/video/IC6dgGmwpBY/видео.html In the video description I have included your channel and the download website. Thanks again for this.
That's a first for me. Glad to hear that you found this useful.
@ShadowMakerSdR I have built a DRFX installation script for Davinci Resolve 19.1. I'll post the download path here tomorrow.
@@OraGoog I am not sure what the benefit of that is. Then people will use my setting file through your download. That means they will not visit my ko-fi page. Or am I misunderstanding you?
@ShadowMakerSdR This file support a automatically installation of your .setting file into fusion/particles directory. Do you have a little picture for a thumbnail (.PNG)?
@@OraGoog I understand what it does. I'm just saying that you are not allowed to do this. The settings file is my creation, that I share with other people for their own use. It's not meant for other people to pass it on to others. I am truly flattered that you enjoy the preset, but you can not redistribute it yourself.
And we have another of course that perfectly make sense why didn't I think of it myself moment. Thanks Sander and Merry Christmas everybody
Nice one Sander! Fijne kerst!!
I used to cut out the unnecessary parts in PS, but Magic Mask method seems to be way easier. Thank you for the tip!
Well done, sir! (I just bought Davinci Studio, so that's why I stopped by). Best wishes and A Merry Christmas to you!
Vind dit zo mooi nummer he blijft prachtig ook in 2024
Zeker luister elk jaar nog naar dit nummer erg onder waardeerd ook
my left ear thanks you-
This is so F'king Funny
this is still not a good workflow, so far I've only tracked objects by just placing them into the merge (like in the pirate ship tutorial) but that also kind of sucks.... I hope there are better alternatives...
@@intuitivefilmanalysis what part of the workflow isn't working for you? I get really solid results with it. If you can elaborate, maybe I can improve on it.
Also, there is already an updated version available (see the next Fuseday video) which already works a lot better.
@@ShadowMakerSdR the workflow is working, I'd just hope there was a more user-friendly workflow. Since we got all these tracking data, it should be possible to make a 3d mapping of the area and then being able to place the object wherever we'd like, with just a simple transform. Your Workflow is definitely not bad, and I'm very thankful for that video! For putting multiple objects into a scene, it would be nice to have something "more visually appealing", like placing objects in a video game. (I also wonder how well it works to place objects like a spaceship in the air far away)
What a pain, they need to add rulers and guides exactly like Premiere.
@@OhanaFilms can you explain what you mean by pain? Maybe you can offer some tips on how to improve my macro.
@@ShadowMakerSdR It needs to work exactly like Premiere. In Premiere I can, with one click, turn on guides and then easily drag/move those guides as needed. Resolve requires me to go into a menu, search for an effect, add that effect to my clip and then play around with several adjustments to get their grid to line up properly. Finally I then have to remove the effect from my clip. It's shockingly awkward and needlessly time consuming. We use guides constantly on every edit. We use them to align horizons, align to architectural elements and create "dead" zones for certain social media applications. As a new user switching from Premiere this is the first major problem I have found. It would be SO EASY to fix too.
@@ShadowMakerSdR P.S. This is not a criticism of your macro, I am saying this is a feature that should be available already in Resolve.
Great macro - it works well and makes split screens etc much easier to create. The only problem I am finding is that when I close the file, all my 'Snap to Grid' settings re-set to the default of 'not selected' and my clips are scattered around and not in the grid format. Once I reselect 'Snap to Grid' again for each clip, they move back into place, but surely this shouldn't be necessary.
Hi Ted, great to hear you like what I created. You're definitely right though, what you describe shouldn't be happening. if you press F1 with the macro selected it will bring you to the help page over at WSL. You can put your feedback in there, so I can trace it better than through RUclips comments. Or you can just send me an e-mail through Gumroad or directly. I think I have a version in progress that might fix your problem. It isn't final yet, so that's why I didn't update the current version. Just get in touch and I will try to sort you out.
Doesn’t work. Line color still doesn’t change from white.
Can you be a bit more specific? This tutorial is almost 8 years old, maybe something has changed. What steps did you take to change which polygon? By default the line color of polygons is red in the interface, so where do you see white splines
@@ShadowMakerSdR he meant the color that it is in the video when you watch it not in the fusion page
I know it's an old tutorial but it was providing exactly the solution I was looking for today. Thank you very much!
Glad it was of use to you. Maybe I should redo it with the new UI and to please the algorythm with new content 🙂
Great way to support the folks over on WSL. Much appreciated.
Loved it😂
Hahaha! That's awesome! Love the creativity and learned something too. Thanks!
Thank you. Feel free to spread the word!
The poetry made me like! LOL
Same 😅
Simply amazing. This series for action VFX is just great. Did you ever think about packing some, including most used techniques and workflows, and release a compositing Fusion Studio based course? This is definitely the stuff im missing the most when interested in learning Fusion. Thabks so much!
Great explanation and workflow. Thanks for sharing :)
Speaking of grids, do you know how grids used to be made in fusion? In version 9 for example. (I suppose they are duplicate nodes with some expression that centers the lines, but I didn't find anything about it).
There are - as usual in Fusion - many ways to do this. I don't remember if the duplicate node was already in Fusion 9. But you could have a background with a rectangle mask and then use a transform tool set to wrap to scale it down to make a grid for example.
@@ShadowMakerSdR Thanks for your answer. Well, I was referring to a dynamic grid, which asks for so many columns and so many lines (like the generator they released for DR15).
@@EditorPerezoso Well, you can use my macro just for grids as well. 🙂
so amazing hahaha , thanks for all your work :)
Fuse or Macro?
It's a macro. I don't know enough about coding yet to do this as a macro. But thankfully Fusion's macros can be quite powerful.
wow this is awesome and can you make somethig that can edit audio in fusion page for example i can connect like pitch, volome, sterio etc of a audio by expresstion by another animated slider or modifire that would be great🤠
the magnum opus.
Awesome.
Wonderful this is so cool 👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤🎉🎉
I LOVE YOU
LMAO
How how how 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I'll tell everybody about it! Good luck❤❤❤❤
I love the 3D Fusion work!! Find it fascinating. Thanks for the tutorial!
Excellent video! You have a new sub
Thanks. If you like this video, be sure to watch Fuseday 5 - this has a much improved version of this macro. Well worth your time!
Wow, this custom grid fuse you’ve created is a game-changer! 🙌 As a fellow Resolve user, I can’t thank you enough for your hard work and dedication. The efficiency boost it provides is incredible! 🚀 and one thing is missing in fusion i think is little bit ability to edit some audio like volume of a sound so i can parrent audio voulme with another slider to sync audio with vedio
Thank you so much for this macro. Blackmagic should buy you a tea plantation and inject your work directly into the app.
I'm glad to hear you like it. I hope the tool will prove to be useful to you!
Amazing video!!!
Quick question. I have the vertical tabs like displayed in the video. I'd like to add more tabs but I'm unable to find a task bar to slide the page left to right. I can only really fit about 3 columns on my laptop and 6 or so my pc otherwise they are just too small or get squished. Is there something I'm missing? I'd like to fit more tabs and scroll left to right to be able to see everything.
I am not an expert on this, so I am not sure. I can see on my computer that if you add more tabs, they just get squeezed together more. There doesn't seem to be a way to add more, while keeping a fixed width and scrolling through them. Personally I would just make a couple of 'pages' with 3 columns and switch between those. I have 5 columns on my 1920x1080 screen and that works for me. Depending on your screensize and resolution I can imagine you'd want to stop at 3 columns.
Thank You sir can I get a heart ❤️
Very cool stuff, godbless
strait up Diabolical thanks you a ton
ohhh we've definitely interacted in steak 🥩 under water 💦. glad to see you're in youtube now
@ShadowMakerSdR My Question is superbin is free for premiere but not for davinci . i found a Lua in internet which can easily copy from web and make a bin named copyimage and paste image on it but if i add any image or video to that folder (in my disc) it not able to autosync with bin. And for COPYimage lua is there any way to bring in timeline directly because if it is coming in bin it also can be dragged at timeline with script.... may AddItemsToMediaPool will help but how and "AppendToTimeline" may help in bring to copied image ..... i am noob but seriously i always mismanage things and i am always late at my project delivery ... currently i m not financially good to purchase superbin ..... Kindly Help
is it available @ Edit page if i want to use there
If you install it in the right directory, it's available in the Edit page. That's one of the reasons I wanted to make it like this.
@@ShadowMakerSdR thank you so much can you help me more just want to ask few questions
@@TheInteGratedStudio Sure. Ask away. If you can, combine your questions, so I can see all of them at once.
Not sure why, but I keep getting a "The network connection was lost" before the file downloads. Zero KB of 26 KB. Any ideas why this would happen? I'm signed in at We Suck Less. Thanks.
I don't know either. I would ask it over there. I was going to say because of the 1000s of downloads the macro is getting, but since the video is still at less than a 100 views I don't think that's the case.
@@ShadowMakerSdR Will do. Appreciate your time. Thanks.
Woww thanks so good
thank you veri much
Forking amazing! Thanks for the update. I read in the comments on last Fuseday's post where you said you had a breakthrough with the design of the macro. You definitely should be proud of yourself!! Thanks again. See you next Fuseday!!
